Patient and Family Advisory Council

Patient and Family Advisory Council

Take an active role in your care at Sidra Medicine

At Sidra Medicine, we believe our patients and their families should be active partners with our clinicians and hospital teams in their journey of care. Your feedback and opinion will shape a more patient and family-centered approach to healthcare and promote effective and respectful partnerships between us.

To achieve this mission, we have created a Patient and Family Advisory Council to develop effective feedback processes where your voices are heard, and the families’ and patients’ needs are addressed. Together, we can create an environment to deliver safe and quality healthcare services.

What is a Patient and Family Advisory Council?

The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at Sidra Medicine represents a group of patients, family members, and caregivers who meet regularly and work with our administrative and clinical teams to advance best practices at our hospital.

Your input will provide guidance on how to improve the patient and family experience at Sidra Medicine.

Who is a Patient and Family Advisor?

Patients and families are voluntary advisors who provide a voice that represents all patients and families of patients who receive care at Sidra Medicine. They partner with hospital doctors, nurses, and administrators to help improve the quality of our hospital’s care for all patients and family members.

We will support our Patient and Family Advisors by listening and responding to their ideas and suggestions. We aim to keep them informed about how their feedback and beliefs contribute to changes and improvements at Sidra Medicine.

How is the Patient and Family Advisory Council structured?

We have established three active councils based on our core services:

  1. Governance Patient and Family Advisory Council
  2. Pediatrics’ Patient and Family Advisory Council
  3. Women’s Patient and Family Advisory Council
