Mohammed becomes first International Patient to receive Itivsma^TM

At just two years old, Mohammed became our first international patient to receive Itvisma^TM, an innovative treatment for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

Mohammed was admitted to our Gene Therapy Clinic led by Prof. Tawfeg Ben Omran, Division Chief of Genetics and Genomic Medicine.

Thanks to private charitable support and under the care of our multidisciplinary team, Mohammed received his treatment at Sidra Medicine and is making great progress in his recovery.
