About Ibtihal Attending Physician
Dr. Abdelgadir is a Pediatric Emergency Physician that have more than 20 years of pediatric experience. She graduated from the University of Khartoum- Sudan 1994. She joined The University of Khartoum- Pediatric Department, as a staff, soon after her graduation. She completed a Medical Doctorate in Pediatrics and Child Health in 2002, after which she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Pediatric Department, University of Khartoum. In 2007 Dr. Abdelgadir joined the United Kingdom NHS, and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Pediatric Training (CCT) in 2015. During this period she obtained the MRCPCH (UK) and a master degree in pediatrics and child health (MSc) from Leeds University (2015). In 2017, she was awarded the FRCPCH-UK. Before joining Sidra Medicine, Dr Abdelgadir worked at Al Wakrah Hospital as a Pediatric Emergency Consultant. Dr. Abdelgadir developed the interest in research and evidence based medicine early on her pediatric career. She is actively participating and leading on research projects. She was formally trained by the Cochrane Collaboration team in Oxford to be a Cochrane author. She regularly teaches and trains colleagues in critical appraisal and evidence-based medicine. She is a regular BMJ peer reviewer and have publications in both the BMJ and the Cochrane library, and other peer reviewed journals. Since she joined Sidra Medicine, she was appointed as an assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, and she is now working closely with medical students during their research placement. She is now the Pediatric Emergency Department lead for clinical guidelines, and a member of the Systematic Reviews Group for Sidra Medicine.
