Reproductive Medicine

Our highly-regarded reproductive medicine team includes consultant physicians, embryologists, nurses, and support staff with extensive international experience in all aspects of fertility treatment and reproductive health. Our care model is holistic and personalized for each patient based on the individual's medical history, specific circumstances, and future needs to determine the best course of treatment.

The added benefit of consulting the Sidra Medicine fertility experts is the one-stop quality of our extensive services with on-site reproductive surgery, maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology services all in a single location.

The Reproductive Medicine team operates on minimal wait times for appointments and offers reproductive assistance to women over 40, those who have never conceived, and women who already have children.

Our state-of-the-art electronic witnessing system offers additional safety and prevention of errors to avoid the misidentification of gametes and embryos. We have the option for time-lapse imaging to track the embryo's development and study cell division in real-time inside the incubator.

We consider test results from outside of Sidra Medicine provided that they comply with our standards, and offer one-on-one briefings, educational evenings regarding fertility treatment options, and access to a range of support services, including nutrition and counseling.

Women have the option for their husbands to be present for all or part of their consultations and procedures.

A Step-by-Step Guide to our Procedure

An initial consultation will be scheduled that includes both the female and male patients. The appointments take 90 minutes and may consist of an ultrasound performed by the physician. Blood samples will be drawn from the female and male patients.

Semen Analysis

At the initial consultation, a semen analysis is scheduled for three days later. If a male patient wishes to have a semen analysis done without further treatment, the results will be ready after 1 days.

Follow-up appointment

The physician reviews the results of the ultrasound, blood tests, and semen analysis with the patients. Based on this, a treatment plan is recommended. The treatment plan will include one, or a combination of, the following:

  • Intracytoplasmic sperm injection ICSI.
  • Conventional in vitro fertilization IVF.
  • Pre-implantation genetic testing PGT.
  • Egg, embryo, and sperm cryopreservation.
  • Intrauterine insemination IUI.
  • Ovulation induction

An appointment is scheduled after the semen analysis. If the couple wishes to proceed with IUI or IVF/ICSI, they discuss the financial arrangements for the entire treatment at the follow-up appointment and are scheduled for a nurse education session.

Once the patient is in the treatment phase, the couple will meet with the clinical team for a predetermined number of consultations and ultrasound scans to monitor progress until the end of the treatment cycle.
