Patient Stories

A journey of hope

When patient “D” was in his 20s, he was diagnosed with advanced Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He decided to store his sperm in Canada. Ten years later, he moved to Qatar with his wife and they wanted to start a family. After being unable to conceive naturally, the couple opted for IVF/ICSI at Sidra Medicine. Despite the complexities of the pandemic, everyone, including Sidra Medicine and the hospital in Canada, pulled all stops to ensure the frozen samples arrived in Doha on time and safely, in order to initiate the IVF/ICSI process and achieve a pregnancy success.

“We felt that we were in the safest and most experienced hands while at Sidra Medicine. We were elated when we were successful on our first cycle – everything was falling into place. Words cannot express how grateful we are, and how impressed we were with the excellent and professional the care that we received. Right from the consultation process, during the treatment and all the way up until we had our precious baby, the team made us feel at ease and comforted us every step of the way. We are proud parents to a beautiful baby boy and we will never forget everyone’s role in how they went the extra mile for us throughout our journey.”
