Children arriving to the Sidra Medicine Children’s Emergency Department will be assessed by experienced medical staff to determine the level of emergency and appropriate care options – immediate emergency care or urgent care.

Children's Emergency Department

Sidra Medicine's Children's Emergency Department treats serious emergencies for children up to the age of 18.

Some examples of the injuries treated are:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Severe trouble breathing
  • Seizures / convulsions

Payment Details

  • Patients seen at to the Children’s Emergency Department will be treated free of charge.
  • Urgent care needs that are not serious emergencies can be treated at Sidra Medicine with an additional charge.
  • Sidra Medicine’s trained financial advisors will help address any insurance coverage related questions.

Children's Urgent Care Clinic

Our Children's Urgent Care Clinic treats minor injuries for children up to the age of 18.

Some examples of the injuries treated are:

  • Coughs, colds and sore throats
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Mild fevers
  • Ear aches
  • Rashes

Payment Details

Children treated for minor (non-emergency) health issues by the Children’s Urgent Care Clinic require a charge for consultation. Supplementary charges for tests, medications and other services, will apply.

The Sidra Medicine Children's Emergency Department was designed to meet the goals of Qatar’s National Health Strategy by creating Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. Our emergency department’s care methodology is based on evidence-based practices.

Emergency Department TeamOur Emergency Staff

The Emergency Department and Urgent Care division functions 24 hours a day every day of the year. We have 58 treatment areas staffed by over 70 doctors and advanced practice nurses, more than 170 nurses, and allied health personnel such as respiratory therapists, social works, cast technicians, child life specialists, and clinical psychologists.

Our team knows they have a serious responsibility. This is a compassionate team of emergency care providers who are dedicated to providing patients with the best care possible.

Within the emergency department, our urgent care service is led by attending doctors and is aimed at providing quality and efficient treatment to those patients who are not anticipated to require a prolonged length of stay or complex investigations/treatments. Charges will apply for patients categorized as non-critical. We are working with insurance providers to establish agreements but until then patients will be required to self-pay at the time of registration. Financial counselors will be available to discuss charges, payment options and signpost to public providers should you choose not to seek treatment at Sidra Medicine.
