Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Advance Healthcare Collaboration

MoU spans supporting coordinated care pathways and knowledge exchange across specialized healthcare services

Doha, Qatar – 02 September 2026: Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, and Aman Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance healthcare collaboration for patients and families in Qatar.

The MoU marks the beginning of a wider collaboration between Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital to identify opportunities that support the evolving healthcare needs of patients and families in Qatar. The MoU includes agreements to bring together the expertise and capabilities of both organizations to enable coordinated care pathways; strengthen professional development; and facilitate the exchange of clinical and operational knowledge.

Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine, said: “This collaboration reflects our commitment to working closely with healthcare providers across Qatar to strengthen coordinated and patient-centered care. By bringing together our respective expertise and capabilities, we can support stronger care pathways, create meaningful opportunities for professional development and knowledge exchange, and enhance access to specialized services for patients and families. We look forward to building on this collaboration with Aman Hospital in support of Qatar’s healthcare system.”

Ms. Caroline Kielty, Chief Nursing Officer at Aman Hospital, said: “At Aman Hospital, we believe that meaningful collaboration between healthcare institutions is essential to delivering seamless, high-quality care for patients and families. By combining our expertise, strengthening referral pathways and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development, we can further enhance the continuity and quality of care. We are confident that this collaboration will strengthen patient outcomes, advance mutual professional practice and contribute to a more connected, accessible and patient-centered healthcare system.”

A key focus of the MoU will be the development of stronger referral pathways between the two institutions. The collaboration will support the timely transfer of patients and continuity of care, while helping connect patients and families with complementary specialized services available at Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital.

The collaboration will also create opportunities for healthcare professionals to participate in clinical education, continuing professional development, simulation-based training, observerships, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives. In addition, the two institutions will collaborate in laboratory and pathology services, and other specialized clinical and operational areas.

Aman Hospital was also the first private hospital to sign a separate Cord Blood Banking agreement with Sidra Medicine. This will allow expectant parents delivering at Aman Hospital to store their baby’s umbilical cord blood with Sidra Medicine. The collection of the samples will be handled by Sidra Medicine and processed and stored at its specialized GMP facility, which houses Qatar’s only Cord Blood Bank.
