Dr. Usama Basit is an Attending Physician in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Sidra Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan, and is dual accredited in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, completing his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in the United Kingdom in 2023.

He trained at the East of England Deanery, with rotations in Ipswich, Cambridge, and Chelmsford, and completed his Pediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty training in Manchester. Dr. Basit achieved Membership (MRCEM) in 2018 and Fellowship (FRCEM) in 2022 from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. He also completed the Chief Resident Program at Cambridge Judge Business School in 2022.

Before joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Basit worked as an EM/PEM Consultant at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, UK. His clinical interests include pediatric emergency medicine, medical education, workplace wellbeing, and major pediatric trauma care.
