Advanced Research Cores (ARC)

The Core Facilities at Sidra Medicine’s Research Department aims to promote a synergy between research and clinical care.

Each of our core facilities houses cutting-edge equipment and technology and is staffed by top researchers. The multidisciplinary core facilities at Sidra Medicine promote collaboration between researchers and clinicians, fostering a holistic approach to patient care. Researchers and healthcare providers can work closely with experts at the core facilities to deliver the best patient care possible and lead to a better understanding of diseases affecting Qatar’s women and children.

This synergy leads to advanced diagnostics; improved treatments, access to experimental therapies, and a culture of continuous improvement in medical practice. These benefits result in better patient outcomes and healthcare quality.

The ARC encompasses 6 Core Facilities which deliver a broad range of services, including clinical genomics, omics, flow-cytometry, advanced imaging, informatics, and zebrafish functional validation.

The unique combination of laboratory and analysis services allows ARC to deliver complex scientific projects from the initial screening of large cohorts to follow-up validations using targeted assays to data analysis and experimental follow-up in model systems. The routine offering of medium- and high-throughput sequencing services is enhanced by 3 rd generation genome and transcriptome analysis methods and single-cell services. Beyond the routine services, all groups are experienced in method development and always excited to work with our users to deliver novel and innovative approaches in research and healthcare.
