Sidra Medicine is a private hospital for public benefit and provides specialized women’s and children’s healthcare services for residents and international patients. We are one of several healthcare organizations in Qatar that has widened the choice for patients to access maternity care and specialist children’s services in the country.

We accept referrals from all healthcare providers (private and public sector) and in some instances by a school nurse or counselor. Our women’s services accepts self-referrals.

For further information please visit our Referrals and Appointments page.

Insurance

As a private healthcare organization, Sidra requires payment for all elective medical services provided. Sidra Medicine is currently in discussions with health insurance providers throughout Qatar and will be able to make claims to the carriers on the patient’s behalf once the arrangements with the insurance companies are finalized.

In the meantime, patients are required to pay the charges in full and obtain a reimbursement from the insurance provider. Our financial counselors are available to advise patients of their options and provide support throughout the process.

Sidra Medicine accepts payment by credit card, bank card or cash. For payment options and advice, please call our financial counselling team on +974 4003 0899 between (7 am to 7 pm) or email financialcounseling@sidra.org.

Appointments are required for all Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Services for women, children and young people. Please note that this does not apply for the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) – which is open to the public. Parents bringing their child to the CED, will have their child assessed by experienced medical staff to determine the level of emergency and appropriate care options – immediate emergency care or urgent care.

Those children assessed as needing urgent care rather than emergency care will be given the option to be treated at the Sidra Urgent Care Center, for a fee, or to seek treatment at another service such as the Primary Health Care Centers.

We have the following options available to access both outpatient and inpatient care:

Qataris and Residents (those with a valid Qatar Residence Permit):

  • When Sidra Medicine is the only provider in Qatar offering the medical services required, patients (Qataris and residents) will only be expected to pay the Qatar defined co-payments.
