Overview
The Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) provides nurses with a structured, evidence-based approach to trauma assessment and management. Through lectures, online modules, skill stations, and simulation, participants develop critical thinking and hands-on skills to rapidly identify, prioritize, and manage life-threatening injuries in trauma patients.
The curriculum is developed by trauma nursing experts, designed by nurses, and regularly updated to reflect evolving trauma care practices. It combines classroom learning with interactive teaching scenarios that allow participants to apply trauma knowledge and clinical skills in realistic settings.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a four-year, internationally recognized TNCC Provider certification. The course is developed by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), an accredited provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), supporting high standards of professional education and aligning with Sidra Medicine’s Pathway to Excellence and Magnet journey.
TNCC is a mandatory course for nurses working in the Emergency Department, both at Sidra Medicine and across Qatar, and is a licensing requirement for Emergency Department nurses. These sessions aim to strengthen trauma care competencies among nurses and support ongoing professional development within the organization.
