Dr. Duraiswami graduated from the University of Madras, one of the oldest premier universities in India and started his career in Anesthesiology and Critical Care. After obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Anesthesiology, he moved to the Sultanate of Oman.

He worked as a medical officer in the major trauma and Obstetrics hospital called Khoula Hospital. He later moved to the United Kingdom to complete his fellowship and he joined the All-Wales Trainee Anesthesiologist Rotation, Wales, UK. He obtained the Fellowship in Anesthesiology FRCA at the Royal College of Anesthesiologist and obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training CCT in Anesthesiology after a seven-year training programme.

As a Consultant Anesthesiologist, he worked in Prince Charles Hospital PCH as a Lead Obstetric Anesthesiologist. His special interest was in the management of the Obstetric Difficult Airway patients and simulation training for trainee doctors at the Postgraduate center. As a Lead Obstetric Anesthesiologist, he regularly updated his knowledge at the Obstetric Anesthesiologist Association OAA Annual meetings at London. He was a Local Coordinator for National Audit Projects NAP of Royal College of Anesthesiologist and UK Obstetrics Surveillance System UKOSS.

He joined Sidra Medicine as an Adult Anesthesiologist to contribute to women’s health care in 2018. He currently covers Elective Adolescent/Pediatric anesthesia for children above the age of six.
