Ahmed Elhamed

Dr. Ahmed Elhamed has been a Pediatric Attending Physician in Diagnostic Imaging at Sidra Medicine since 2020.

Dr. Elhamed earned his MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree at Belarusian State Medical University in 2005. He completed his pediatric residency at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar in 2013. He also completed two pediatric fellowship programs, one at Hamad Medical Corporation in 2015 and another in 2018 at Sick Kids Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.

Recently, Dr. Ahmed was appointed as associate program Director of Medical Education at Sidra Medicine.

Dr. Ahmed works with his team to coordinate safe and efficient patient care. He loves to teach fellows, residents, and medical students at every opportunity as he hopes to support the next generation of physicians.

Dr. Al Elhamed’s research interests include body MRI imaging and pediatric medical education.

Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, has published a study in Scientific Reports, a journal from Nature Portfolio titled "Distinctive Blood and Salivary Proteomics Signatures in Qatari Individuals at High Risk for Cardiovascular Disease". The study identifies protein markers that can help detect individuals at high risk of cardiovascular disease. These non-invasive methods contribute to advancing personalized healthcare and facilitating early diagnosis.
