At Sidra Medicine, we value purposeful community partnerships that enhance patient wellbeing and create positive experiences for children, women, and families receiving care.

Through our Community Visits program, we welcome approved organizations and individuals to engage with patients in a safe, respectful, and structured manner, aligned with Sidra Medicine’s commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and dignity.

All visits are carefully reviewed and coordinated to ensure they add value to patients’ experiences while maintaining clinical priorities and infection control standards.

Who Can Submit a Request?

We welcome requests from:

  • Corporate organizations as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives
  • Non-governmental and community organizations
  • Approved individuals

All visits are subject to prior approval and must comply with Sidra Medicine’s community engagement and safety guidelines.

What to Expect

Patient and Community visits may include:

  • Patients’ workshops or awareness activities
  • Patient-friendly engagement activities
  • Distribution of approved gifts or vouchers

Please note: Visits are designed to benefit patients first. Promotional or marketing activities are limited and subject to approval.

Key Guidelines and Requirements

To ensure a smooth, safe, and positive experience for patients, visitors, and Sidra Medicine staff, all community visits must follow the guidelines below:

  • Visitor Limit:
    Maximum of five visitors per ward. Additional visitors would not be accommodated and may cause disruption.
  • Mascots and Entertainment:
    One mascot per visit is permitted.  In addition, performances including magicians or similar acts are not permitted, as we aim to provide a calm and appropriate environment for our patients.
  • Gifts Approval:
    • All gifts must be submitted for prior review and approval
    • Vouchers from reputable toy stores are encouraged
    • Gifts must be age-neutral and culturally appropriate
    • Any unapproved changes may result in visit cancellation
  • Branding and Signage:
    No banners or signage are allowed during visits unless they have been submitted and approved beforehand. This helps us maintain a respectful and consistent environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Patient Restrictions:
    • PPE requirements may apply
    • Certain units or patients may have access restrictions
    • Final visit details depend on patient condition and clinical approval

Approval and Coordination

  • All visits must be reviewed and approved by the Patient and Community Engagement Team.
  • Visits involving media or public figures may require additional permissions and coordination.
  • Gifts must be vetted and approved to ensure safety, infection control, and suitability for the intended age group.
  • Submission does not guarantee approval

To complete your visit request, please review and submit the following documents:

  • Community Visit Form — To capture details about your group, visit purpose, and plans.
  • Community Visit Guidelines — Important instructions and protocols to follow during the visit.
  • Gift Guidelines — Specifics on approved gifts and distribution rules.

Please submit the completed forms by the specified deadline to allow us sufficient time for coordination with clinical teams and to finalize arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions

We allow a maximum of five visitors per ward to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients and staff. Please plan your group accordingly.

No, any changes to the approved gifts or activities on the day of the visit will result in cancellation to maintain safety and consistency.
