Why We Have Volunteer Services
Our Volunteer Program enhances the patient and family experience by providing extra support across Sidra Medicine’s facilities. Volunteers help with daily operations, events, and hospitality, ensuring care that is warm, respectful, and community centered.
Who is a Sidra Medicine Volunteer?
A Sidra Medicine volunteer is a dedicated individual from the community who assists hospital teams in providing compassionate, high-quality care. Volunteers are not involved in clinical duties but play a supportive role under staff supervision to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Who Can Volunteer?
- Must be 16 years or older
- Hold a valid Qatar Residency Permit
- Demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and professionalism
- Commit time to support Sidra’s vision and values
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Volunteers may serve in roles such as:
- Hospital Guides – assist visitors and families with directions
- Administrative Aides – provide non-clinical support to departments
- Event Assistants – support Sidra Medicine events and activities
- Bedside Buddies – engage children in supervised play or reading sessions
Core Responsibilities
- Represent Sidra Medicine’s mission, vision, and values
- Wear your volunteer ID badge and vest at all times
- Follow confidentiality, safety, and infection control policies
- Report on attendance and incidents accurately
- Work respectfully with patients, families, and staff
Volunteer Orientation & Training
All volunteers undergo two orientations:
- General Orientation – Sidra Medicine’s values, policies, and safety procedures
- Department-Specific Orientation – tailored to your assigned area
You will also receive access to a scheduling platform to manage shifts and track attendance.
