Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- 9-10 September 2026
- 07:30 am – 03:30 pm
- HB2C 305 – Sidra Medicine
Overview
The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a comprehensive, evidence-based education program developed by the Emergency Nurses Association () to enhance the knowledge, skills and clinical judgment of nurses caring for pediatric patients in emergency settings. The course focuses on the rapid identification and management of critically ill or injured children using a structured, systematic approach to assessment and intervention.
ENPC combines self-paced learning with interactive classroom instruction, case-based discussions, and high-fidelity simulation to bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. It emphasizes the use of the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT), prioritization of care, and timely, evidence-based interventions for a wide range of pediatric emergencies, including respiratory distress, shock, trauma and altered mental status.
By standardizing pediatric emergency care education, ENPC supports improved patient safety, enhanced clinical competence, and better outcomes for children and families. It is an essential program for Emergency Department nurses to ensure consistent, high-quality, and timely pediatric emergency care aligned with international best practice guidelines.
Workshop Objectives
- Demonstrate a systematic pediatric assessment using the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) and primary/secondary survey to rapidly identify and prioritize life-threatening conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
- Perform evidence-based pediatric emergency nursing interventions to manage common and high-acuity conditions, including respiratory distress, shock, trauma, toxicological emergencies, and neonatal deterioration.
- Demonstrate improved clinical decision-making, teamwork, and communication skills to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated care for pediatric patients in the emergency department.
