Autism Friendly Hospital Initiative Educational Session
Overview
Sidra Medicine has implemented an Autism Friendly Hospital Program to address the challenges that children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can experience when they are in a hospital environment. Challenges such as sensory sensitivities, communication difficulties, and limited staff knowledge can lead to increased anxiety, behavioral dysregulation, and difficulties completing medical procedures. Poor provider–family communication and lack of integration of parental expertise, can further impact the quality and safety of care.
Join our free educational session and learn best practices and strategies that will have a positive impact on patient care and outcomes.
