Shaikha Alqahtani

Dr. Shaikha Alqahtani is an Attending Physician in Hematology and Oncology at Sidra Medicine. She joined Sidra Medicine in 2026 following advanced subspecialty training in pediatric hematology, oncology, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapy in the United States.
Dr. Alqahtani earned her Doctor of Medicine degree with Academic Distinction from Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University/Children’s Hospital of Richmond, followed by a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and a Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy Fellowship at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. During her fellowship training, she served as Chief Fellow in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Her clinical practice focuses on caring for children with hematologic malignancies, bone marrow failure syndromes, primary immunodeficiencies specifically patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. Dr. Alqahtani is actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and quality improvement initiatives, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences.
