Sidra Medicine’s Postpartum Home Visit Program provides personalized postnatal and newborn support for mothers and babies following discharge from our hospital. The self-pay private program is currently available for existing Sidra Medicine maternity patients.
Designed as a premium extension of Sidra Medicine’s maternity services, the program offers family-centered care delivered in the comfort and privacy of home by experienced midwifery and lactation consultant teams.
The program focuses on recovery, feeding support, newborn wellness, education, and early identification of concerns during the postnatal period.

Services Included
Home visits are led by Sidra Medicine midwives and lactation specialists.
Services may include:
Maternal Postnatal Care
- General postnatal wellness assessment
- Cesarean wound assessment
- Perineal recovery assessment
- Breastfeeding and lactation support
- Maternal recovery education
- Emotional wellbeing support and screening
- Guidance on postnatal recovery and self-care
Newborn Care
- General newborn wellness checks
- Feeding support and assessment
- Weight monitoring
- Jaundice screening
- Newborn care education
- Sleep and feeding guidance
Care includes both:
- Clinical assessment and monitoring
- Education and coaching for families
Vaccinations are not currently included as part of the postpartum home visit program.
Eligibility
The Postpartum Home Visit Program is currently available for:
- Women who delivered at Sidra Medicine
- Mothers and newborns who are clinically stable for home follow-up
- Families approved through pre-discharge screening or following post discharge phone assessment
The program is intended for routine postpartum and newborn follow-up care and is not designed for emergency or high-risk medical management.
Important Safety Information
Some mothers or newborns may require in-person hospital or clinic assessment instead of home-based care.
Examples may include:
- Fever
- Heavy bleeding
- Respiratory concerns
- Severe feeding difficulties
- Dehydration concerns
- Significant jaundice
- Signs of infection
- Acute medical concerns identified during screening
If concerns are identified during a home visit, the midwifery team may recommend escalation to:
- A Sidra Medicine physician
- Urgent clinic assessment
- Emergency Department evaluation if clinically required
Booking Process
Families may request a postpartum home visit through the Sidra Medicine call center +974 4003 3333.
The process includes:
- Home visit inquiry submitted
- Initial screening and eligibility review if delivered outside of Sidra Medicine
- Midwifery review and care planning
- Package selection and payment confirmation
- Appointment scheduling
- Home visits initiated after discharge
Same-day visits are not currently available.

The Postpartum Home Visit Program is currently offered as a self-pay private pay service only.
Patients will receive:

- Confirmation prior to scheduling
Both single visits and package options are available.
Operational Hours
Home visits are currently available during operational hours: Sunday to Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM
Scheduling is based on:
- Clinical appropriateness
- Team availability
- Geographic routing and logistics
