how does COVID-19 impact patients and visitors coming to Sidra Medicine?
To ensure the safety of our patients and families, Sidra Medicine strives to remain free of the COVID-19 virus. To achieve this we ask a set of basic questions and will take the temperature of everyone entering the hospital as well as request the parent or guardian to show the status of the Ehteraz app on their smartphones. Initial screenings are done at the entries to our outpatient clinics and our Emergency Department.
Please note that we only test patients who are admitted to Sidra Medicine for specialty care that is not available at another healthcare facility.

Scientific Advisory Committee
An external Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), composed of world leaders in different areas of research, evaluates the Sidra Medicine Research Branch (SMRB) group leaders. The SAC helps recruit new members for the Sidra Medicine Research Branch and direct our future medical research endeavors. Results from SAC evaluations help us shape the future of the Sidra Medicine Research Branch scientists and ensures the mobility and the renewal of the staff of Sidra Medicine Research Branch.

The Research Branch at Sidra Medicine is tasked with two strategic goals: establishing a strong, clinically oriented biomedical research program, and developing a national resource of genomic information that improves health in Qatar and the region.
Achieving these goals requires significant collaboration both internally – among research, corporate and clinical stakeholders – and externally, via strategic partnerships with other Qatar-based and international institutions, that combine to establish world-class, research-driven care for our patients.

Clinical Training and Key Rotations
The Pediatric Residency program is a 4-year ACGMEI-accredited program leading to Arab and Qatari Board certification. The program consists of 13 blocks per academic year, one of which is a vacation block; each lasts for 28 days.

State-Of-The-Art Education Facilities
Our education facilities includes a variety of lecture halls, classrooms and state-of-the-art simulation rooms equipped with the latest technologies, including video conferencing and live streaming to other conference rooms in the hospital or lecturers and specialists around the world. Live translation is also supported with bilingual display in English and Arabic.
Accredited Residency and Fellowship Programs
Sidra Medicine also offers residency and fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGMEI), a body directly aligned with ACGME, the international best practice standard that accredits the majority of graduate medical training programs for doctors in the United States.
Our programs will continue to build on our academic credibility in order to maintain our standing as a premier teaching hospital in the region.
