Wisal Salih, MSc., PGDip, BSc(Pharm), BSc(Chem), RPh, is a Canadian-licensed pharmacist and diabetes educator with 19 years of experience in a dynamic and diverse practice in pharmacy and health sciences education. She currently serves as the Department Head of the Pharmacy Technology and Senior Lecturer at the College of Health Sciences, University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST).
Ms. Salih holds a BSc. in Chemistry from Saint Mary’s University and a BSc. Pharmacy from Dalhousie University both in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She earned a Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Science degree (with Distinction) from the University of South Wales in the United Kingdom. She holds certifications in Adult Education, Curriculum Development and Online Teaching and Course Development from the Canadian College of Educators in Ontario, Canada.
Her professional background includes leadership roles in community pharmacy, having worked as a Pharmacy Manager with Sobeys Pharmacy Group and Lawton’s Drugs in Halifax. At UDST, she has participated in the development of the Master of Science in Diabetes Care and Patient Education Program and the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Technology Program at UDST.
Ms. Salih is actively involved in academic mentorship, preceptorship, and the training of students in both Pharmacy Technology and Diabetes Education, with a strong focus on integrating practical competencies and professional standards into health sciences education.
