Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Bin Hamad Al Thani is the Director of the Department of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Prevention Programs at Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. A distinguished public health leader known for his visionary approach, Dr. Al Thani has significantly advanced Qatar’s public health objectives through data-driven policies, strategic collaborations, and targeted interventions addressing non-communicable diseases.

Currently, he is instrumental in implementing Qatar’s National Health Strategy 2024–2030, advocating for integrating health literacy and evidence-based practices across multiple sectors to enhance equitable healthcare outcomes. In addition to his influential role in public health policy and systems reform, Dr. Al Thani contributes extensively to academia as a Professor at Qatar University and an Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, actively mentoring future leaders in public health.

Internationally recognized for his contributions to modernizing health systems, effective public health emergency responses, and fostering global health collaborations, Dr. Al Thani remains dedicated to promoting innovative, sustainable, and inclusive healthcare solutions.
