Prof. Shahrokh Esfandiari, PhD

Prof. Shahrokh Esfandiari is the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). A dental surgeon by training with a PhD in Dental Sciences, he has held senior academic leadership roles in Canada, including as Dean and Full Professor at the Université de Montréal. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges clinical care, public health, and health technology assessment.
Over the course of his career, Prof. Esfandiari has authored more than 130 scientific publications and book chapters, and has led numerous initiatives focused on equity, innovation, and patient-centered education. He is a recognized advocate for integrating health literacy into academic programs and health systems as a foundation for accessible, informed, and inclusive care. At UDST, he is spearheading reforms to better align education with Qatar’s national healthcare priorities.
