Ahmed Sobhy is a seasoned media professional with over 20 years of experience in news reporting, humanitarian storytelling, and health journalism across the Arab world. He has covered major events such as the Syrian war (2012) and the Arab Spring, with a strong focus on human-centered narratives.
Since 2016, he has hosted “Ma’a Al-Hakeem” on Al Jazeera Mubasher—a leading health program that gives voice to patients, showcases expert medical insights, and follows cutting-edge global innovations. The program is broadcast on both Al Jazeera Mubasher and Al Jazeera 360.
He holds a certificate in Medical Humanities from Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar, specializing in the role of media in enhancing doctor–patient communication.
Ahmed has pioneered the integration of artificial intelligence into the show, making it one of the region’s most forward-thinking health media productions. He also trains journalists and healthcare professionals at the Al Jazeera Media Institute, focusing on health content production and health communication strategy.
