Who are Youth Patient Advisors?

Youth Patient Advisors are volunteers who serve as the voice for all young individuals and their families receiving care at Sidra Medicine. Collaborating with our hospital's doctors, nurses, and administrators, they play a vital role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services for our young patients and their families.

We are committed to supporting our Youth Patient Advisors by actively listening to their thoughts and ideas. We strive to keep them informed about the impact of their feedback and how their suggestions make positive changes and improvements at Sidra Medicine. Together, we work towards creating a healthcare experience that truly reflects the needs and perspectives of our youth community.

Expectations

  • The Council meetings occur every other month or monthly, depending on the availability and school calendar.
  • The group works on projects, hears guest speakers, and discusses patient feedback.
  • Members share their own healthcare experiences so that we can teach others what it is like and use this knowledge to improve care.

Your involvement will show adults and other young people what a positive and important contribution we can all make to Sidra and the healthcare system.
