Preparation Documents & Prohibited Items
If you are scheduled for an appointment, admission, or referred to from another healthcare facility, arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to complete registration and bring the following documents to ensure a smooth and faster registration process with us. If you arrive 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled.
Documents to Bring with You
- Your Qatar ID or passport
- Your child’s Qatar ID, Passport or Birth Certificate
- Valid HMC Health Card (if available)
- Valid Health Insurance Card
- Children will not be seen without a parent or guardian present
- Orphans require identification of custody
- Minors: copy of guardian’s or sponsor’s passport
- Payment debit or credit card as we are a cashless facility
- For Obstetrics and IVF appointments: a copy of a marriage certificate or other proof of marriage document with exemption for single patients
Prohibited Items
- Large flower arrangements must not exceed 60 cm in height and 80 cm in width
- Food from outside the hospital shall be consumed in the cafeteria and is not allowed in the wards
- Furniture, bed linen, tablecloths, rugs and curtains
- Hazardous and flammable items such as lighters, perfumes, candles, and coal for incense or oud
- Valuable personal belongings, such as jewelry and large sums of cash
- Weapons and illegal substances
- Pets are not allowed
- Large and noisy toys
- Decorations such as latex balloons and glass and fragile items. Framed pictures and other decorative accessories cannot be hung on the walls or doors inside or outside the rooms
- Electrical devices and kitchen appliances such as electric razors, hair dryers, flat irons, and coffee machines
To help your child feel comfortable during their hospital stay at Sidra Medicine, please bring:
- Comfortable clothes and slippers
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, etc.)
- Any medications your child is currently taking
- Medical equipment your child uses at home (e.g., inhalers, crutches, prosthetics)
- A favorite stuffed animal, blanket, or toy for comfort
- Your child’s Holy Book or prayer mat, if desired
- Books, coloring books, a tablet with headphones, or other entertainment items
For a more comfortable stay at Sidra Medicine, we recommend you bring:
- Loose, comfortable clothing and non-slip slippers
- Personal toiletries (toothbrush, hairbrush, face wash, etc.)
- Any medications you are currently taking
- Necessary medical devices or equipment (e.g., maternity support belts, breast pump)
- Your Holy Book and prayer mat if you wish
- Light entertainment (books, magazines, or a tablet with headphones)
- Optional: Maternity/nursing bra, sanitary items, and comfort items like a pillow or robe
