Here at Sidra Medicine we have over 1,200 Nursing and Midwifery roles across the Clinical Management Groups and our Nursing and Midwifery staff play a crucial role in fulling Sidra Medicine’s ambition for excellence in care for patients and their families.

Working collaboratively with our multi professional colleagues, we are committed to establishing a culture that allows the professional voice of Nursing and Midwifery to flourish, ensuring the delivery of world class Nursing and Midwifery care to the population of Qatar.

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice Development

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice Development at Sidra Medicine is at the forefront of our vision to become a beacon of learning, discovery and exceptional care, ranked among the top academic centers in the world. The department is committed to support a culture of safe, evidence-based, quality care through the education and training of staff. Sidra Medicine works closely with our academic partner, University of Calgary Qatar, to develop and provide robust training opportunities in a state-of-the-art facility, providing the most up-to-date patient care. Sidra Medicine leads in the provision of specialized education programs, offering first in the region programming of internationally recognized training and certification courses. Our training, technology and learning spaces provide the most up-to-date experience in patient care. The Department of Nursing Education and Practice Development supports the clinical and professional development of our Nurses and Midwives to promote nursing science and advance leaders in the profession.

The department is dedicated to promoting and supporting the advancement of Nursing and Midwifery research as a foundation in patient care delivery and achieving international prominence as a center of excellence for professional Nursing and Midwifery Practice.

Our Staff

Executive Directors of Nursing

The Executive Directors of Nursing provide high level Nursing and Midwifery leadership, strategic direction and advocacy for the training and professional development of Sidra Medicine's Nurses and Midwives. Professionally reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Executive Directors of Nursing are responsible for strategic leadership and oversight, design, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum. This also includes long term strategic planning with our academic partners to ensure robust opportunities for graduates, trainees and the offering of high-quality training, competency and professional development of Sidra Medicine’s Nurses and Midwives.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

Sidra Medicine has a number of NPs across a range of specialties who are leading on shaping and delivering excellent care for children, young people and women in Qatar side-by-side with doctors and Nursing colleagues. The team of NPs at Sidra Medicine are the first to be licensed by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners.
