Program Overview
This multidisciplinary training program is designed to develop future leaders in women’s health by offering a comprehensive curriculum that integrates advanced clinical training, focused research, and interdisciplinary education.
Specifically tailored for internists and family physicians with a strong interest in women’s health, the fellowship provides extensive hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of women’s health concerns, including adolescent gynecology, menopause, reproductive health, maternal medical complications, breast and bone health, weight management, and endocrinology.
The program emphasizes individualized learning through a combination of core rotations, elective opportunities, and research projects, empowering fellows to customize their training to align with their professional interests and career aspirations.
Duration: 2 years
- Perform comprehensive physical, breast, and pelvic examinations.
- Apply evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making – reproductive health screening.
- Develop and implement individualized patient management plans.
- Provide collaborative, patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings.
- Diagnose and manage:
– Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), Menstrual bleeding disorders, Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS),
– Vaginal infections and abnormal discharge - Manage menopause, including reproductive and non-reproductive manifestations, and prescribe hormone replacement therapy appropriately.
- Conduct primary infertility evaluation and initiate appropriate investigations.
- Provide premarital and preconception counseling.
- Distinguish between routine antenatal care and the management of medical complications during pregnancy.
- Diagnose and manage adolescent gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, hirsutism, and eating disorders.
- Recognize and address mental health and sleep disorders associated with various stages of a woman’s life, including the postpartum period and menopause.
- Perform office-based gynecological procedures, including:
– Vaginal cultures, Pap smears, Cervical polypectomy, vulvar biopsy, Endometrial biopsy, Intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and removal Diaphragm fitting

- Completion of an ACGME accredited or equivalent Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
