Hypospadias Advanced Training Program
Program Overview
The Hypospadias Advanced Training Program at Sidra Medicine is a 4-week highly selective, full-time advanced training opportunity designed for qualified pediatric surgeons and pediatric urologists. Trainees receive hands-on surgical experience, participate in cutting-edge clinical training, and engage in in-depth research at one of the world’s leading high-volume centers for hypospadias management. Fellows gain exposure to complex and revision hypospadias cases and work within a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care. The program accepts only two fellows per year, is unpaid and self-funded, and is accredited by the Graduate Medical Education Office at Sidra Medicine.

Key Rotations
- Week 1: Observe surgeries, engage in patient evaluations
- Week 2: Assist in surgeries, begin basic research tasks
- Week 3: Lead patient care, assist in more complex surgeries
- Week 4: Perform key steps of the surgeries under supervision, contribute to research conclusions
- Certified Urologist, Pediatric Surgeon or Pediatric Urologist.
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience.
- A minimum of three years post-board certification experience in pediatric urology or urology with active involvement in hypospadias care.
- Prior surgical experience in at least 50 hypospadias cases (as primary surgeon or first assistant); case logbook is required
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Demonstrated interest in hypospadias care and research.
- One letter of recommendation from a senior urologist or program director attesting to the applicant’s suitability and commitment to advanced hypospadias training.

What are the eligibility criteria?
Applicants must:
- Be a certified Urologist, Pediatric Surgeon, or Pediatric Urologist

Is temporary licensing required to participate?
- Yes, all accepted candidates must obtain a temporary license to practice in Qatar, as mandated by the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) under the Ministry of Public Health.

Fees & Financial Responsibility
Is this a paid program?
- No, the program is unpaid and self-funded. Selected trainees are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
Is there a processing fee for accepted candidates?
- Yes, a non-refundable processing fee of $1000 is required for all accepted candidates. Payment instructions will be provided upon acceptance.

Is the processing fee refundable if I withdraw or cancel?
- No, the processing fee is non-refundable, even in cases of withdrawal or cancellation after acceptance.
