Pediatric Otolaryngology

Program Overview

The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Sidra Hospital is one of the busiest and most dynamic services within the institution. Our team manages a wide spectrum of acute and chronic conditions in children, ranging from routine cases to the most complex and challenging disorders.

Fellows will gain comprehensive medical and surgical experience across key subspecialty areas, including the airway, otology, rhinology, the lacrimal system, craniofacial disorders, and head and neck masses. In addition to clinical training, the fellowship emphasizes academic development through multidisciplinary collaboration, active involvement in teaching medical students and residents, and dedicated, protected time for research.

Clinical Expertise:
Develop advanced diagnostic and therapeutic skills in managing pediatric ENT conditions, from common to complex.

Surgical Proficiency:
Attain competence in a wide range of pediatric otolaryngologic procedures, including airway, otologic, sino-nasal, head and neck, and craniofacial surgeries.

Multidisciplinary Care:
Learn to coordinate care with pediatricians, anesthesiologists, speech pathologists, audiologists, and other specialists.

Research and Scholarship:
Contribute to the academic body of knowledge through clinical or basic science research, ideally culminating in presentations or publications.

Teaching and Leadership:
Gain experience in teaching residents and medical students while developing leadership skills within a healthcare team.

Professionalism and Ethics:
Foster compassionate, family-centered care that reflects high ethical standards and cultural sensitivity.

It is a two-year program in the form of four-week blocks.

  • Completion of an ACGME-I accredited or equivalent residency training program in Otolaryngology.
  • Board certification in core specialty (Otolaryngology).
  • Hold a valid Medical License or be eligible for licensure in Qatar.
