Neonatal Hemodynamics and Perinatal Cardiology
Program Overview
Clinical Fellow – Neonatal Hemodynamic & Perinatal Cardiology within the Division of Neonatology, is a Board Eligible/Certified physician with clinical training in Neonatology. The appointee will be provided supervised training leading to Basic/ Advanced certificate in Neonatologist performed echocardiography and management of infants with congenital heart disease. This program is unique in GCC, Asia and Africa and is one of the few programs offered globally to provide this specialized training.
The fellowship is over two years and will rotate through NICU, CICU, pediatric cardiology and fetal medicine clinics and provides a broad experience to the appointee in all aspects of neonatal hemodynamics and perinatal cardiology.
The main aim of the fellowship program is to equip the appointee with necessary skills and experience in basic and advanced neonatal functional echocardiography skills required to independently attend to neonatal hemodynamic consults on a tertiary/quaternary NICU. The additional skills will be acquired for managing infants with complex congenital heart disease. The program also incorporates dedicated research time in the two years during which time the appointee will be expected to complete an identified project.

The applicant should be Board Eligible/Certified (pediatrics) physician with completed subspeciality training (ACGME approved fellowship/ equivalent) in Neonatology
