Sidra Medicine is pleased to announce the opening of three additional pediatric clinics at the Sidra Medicine Outpatient Clinic. Neurosurgery, Urology and Orthopedics consultation clinics are now open for referral based pediatric patients.
Pediatric Urology
The Pediatric Urology Clinic is headed by Dr. Joao Luiz Pippi Salle, the Division Chief of Pediatric Urology. The clinic will provide consultation for children with acquired and congenital lesions of the kidney, ureters, bladder, urethra, gonads and genitalia, and the counseling and therapy of antenatally (occurring or present before birth) identified lesions. Dr. Salle and his team also apply innovative surgical techniques for the treatment of urinary incontinence, reconstruction or revision of the renal pelvis and also treat children born with atypical genitalia.
Pediatric Neurosurgery
The Pediatric Neurosurgery Clinic is under Dr. Khalid Al-Kharazi who is the Acting Division Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery. The Clinic will provide pediatric consultation for the treatment of brain and spinal diseases in children including brain tumours, traumatic brain injuries and hydrocephalus. Dr. Kharazi’s team also treats spinal tumours, craniosynostosis (a rare condition in which a baby develops or is born with an abnormally shaped skull) and congenital malformations.
Pediatric Orthopedics
The Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic is headed by Dr. Jason Howard who is the Division Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. This clinic is staffed by fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeons and experienced nursing and allied health professionals. The clinic specializes in the treatment of general pediatric orthopedic conditions including: clubfoot, hip dysplasia, limb deformity, and others. The clinic will also accept referrals for more specialized pediatric orthopedic conditions including: neuromuscular disorders (e.g. cerebral palsy) and spinal deformities (e.g. scoliosis).
The Sidra Medicine Outpatient Clinic is currently accepting referral based patients from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation and the QF Primary Health Care Center. While consultations with the Sidra Medicine surgical team are based out of the Sidra Medicine Outpatient Clinic, all surgical procedures and operations are currently being conducted at HMC hospitals.
Sidra Medicine is collaborating closely with other healthcare institutions in Qatar to expand the referral network as and when more clinics and services are launched. The Sidra Medicine Outpatient Clinic currently has over 25 clinics, allied health and clinical services and will be fully operational by January 2017.
