Phani Yajamanyam

Dr. Phani Kiran Yajamanyam completed training in Pediatrics in the UK and specialized in the field of Neonatology. He was awarded the certificate of completion of training in Neonatal-perinatal medicine in 2014 and subsequently became a fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in 2016.

Before joining Sidra Medicine, he worked as a consultant neonatologist for 5 years at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, one of the largest perinatal centers in the UK. Apart from having extensive experience in caring for extremely premature and ill newborns, Dr. Yajamanyam acted as the medical lead for neonatal surgery at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. In this role, he actively established clinical pathways for newborns with surgical conditions at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

His research work includes the ‘utility of Tissue Doppler Imaging in the neonatal population.’ He also has a keen interest in neonatal infection and is currently acting as a lead investigator at Sidra Medicine, exploring the use of transcriptomics in post-operative infection.

Dr. Phani joined Sidra Medicine in 2019, and his roles included Attending Physician, Neonatology, NICU Clinical lead for Patient Safety, and NICU Clinical lead for Medication Management.

Dr. Phani specialized in Neonatology and worked at Liverpool Women’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, UK, before joining Sidra Medicine.
