Workshop objectives:

Understand key simulation concepts and pedagogical strategies to effectively enhance learner engagement in simulation-based education.
Demonstrate effective facilitation techniques to guide learners through simulation-based education and debriefing sessions.
Demonstrate effective leadership in facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork and communication during simulated scenarios.
Operate and utilize simulation technology, manikin software, and equipment effectively to maximize learning outcomes.

This activity is an Accredited (Category 1) as defined by DHP and is approved for a maximum of 12.25hrs.

Understand the importance of Sim Zones in delivering the appropriate modality to the right learner group.

Demonstrate effective logistical planning and facilitation techniques to optimize hands-on practical sessions in simulation-based education.

13:20–14:00 (40 mins) CAT 1	Simulation Pre-Brief, Expectations and Familiarizations Presenter: Nadim Osseily	Establish clear pre-briefing strategies to set expectations and create a psychologically safe learning environment for simulation participants. Demonstrate effective techniques for familiarizing learners with simulation equipment, scenarios, and objectives to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
14:00–14:40 (40 mins) CAT 1	Scenario Structure and Design Presenter: Dr. Abdullah Sababha	Develop structured and evidence- based simulation scenarios tailored to specific learning objectives and clinical competencies. Apply best practices in scenario design to ensure realism, learner engagement, and effective assessment of performance outcomes.

07:30–08:10 (40 mins) CAT 1	Cue-based Learning: Realism and Fidelity Presenter: Dr. Abdullah Sababha	Utilize cue-based learning techniques to enhance realism and fidelity in simulation-based education. Integrate appropriate environmental, verbal, and clinical cues to improve learner immersion and decision- making skills.
08:10–09:30 (80 mins) CAT 1	Introduction to Effective Debriefing Methodology with practical application (video-based) Presenter: Dr. Prabhakar Nayak	Learn the key principles of effective debriefing. Practice conducting debriefings by analyzing video scenarios and giving feedback to improve communication and learning.

10:00–10:50 (50 mins) CAT 1	Basic Practical Application of Scenario Building Using HPS Software (UNI & LLEAP) Each group will be given specific HPS software to create a scenario. Presenter/s: Carlo Causaren / Dr. Ronald Tyron dela Rosa / Beverly Kaye Jo	Learn how to create and customize training scenarios using HPS software (UNI & LLEAP) through hands-on practice. Develop the skills to apply realistic simulation scenarios, using HPS software, to enhance training outcomes and learner engagement.
10:50–11:20 (30 mins) CAT 1	Building up a Clinical Scenario (A total of two groups will participate, with each group having the opportunity to create a scenario.) All Facilitators	Understand the key components and steps involved in creating a realistic clinical scenario for training purposes. Gain hands-on experience in designing a clinical scenario, focusing on the integration of clinical skills, patient outcomes, and effective teaching strategies.
11:20–12:20 (1 hour)	PRAYER & LUNCH BREAK
12:20–14:20 (2 hours)	Directing and Conducting a Simulated Scenario with Faculty Led-Debriefing. (A total of two groups will participate. Each group will have 55 minutes to run the scenario, followed by a faculty-led debrief.) All Facilitators	Learn how to effectively direct a simulated scenario, focusing on managing the flow, maintaining realism, and engaging participants. Develop the skills to lead a faculty-led debriefing, using structured feedback and reflection techniques to enhance learning and performance after the simulation.
14:20–15:00	Summary & Evaluation
