Dr. Akhter Baba is a Hospital Intensivist in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Sidra Medicine, where he has been practicing since October 2021. He provides specialized care for critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients, working within a multidisciplinary cardiac intensive care team to deliver safe, timely, and effective treatment.
Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Baba spent nine years as a Consultant Pediatrician and Neonatologist with the Directorate of Health Services in Jammu and Kashmir, India. During this time, he served as ICU in-charge at a district headquarters hospital, managing both general and high-risk pediatric and neonatal cases. He was also actively involved in medical education as teaching faculty for the DNB program and served as a regional Bridge Course Coordinator for three years.
Dr. Baba completed his postgraduate training and senior residency at SKIMS Soura, Kashmir. He is committed to advancing critical care practice, patient safety, and clinical education.
