Pediatric Hospital Medicine
Program Overview
The Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program is intended for individuals who have completed four years of pediatrics, are Arab Board Certified (or equivalent) and are preparing for a career in advanced tertiary pediatrics hospital. The three-year Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship program is based at Sidra Medicine, the main tertiary pediatrics hospital in the State of Qatar, alongside other pediatrics services available at Hamad medical Corporation (HMC), the main governmental hospital in the State of Qatar. The program focuses on delivering high quality clinical, as well as quality improvement and research training.
- Clinical Excellence: To provide fellows with a robust clinical training environment that simulates real-world challenges, ensuring they are adept in managing a wide range of pediatric illnesses, both common and rare.
- Research and Innovation: To empower fellows to engage in meaningful research, enhancing the evidence base for pediatric hospital medicine and driving innovation in inpatient pediatric care.
- Advocacy and Community Engagement: To instill the importance of child health advocacy, equipping fellows with the skills to work collaboratively with families, communities, and policymakers for better pediatric healthcare outcomes.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: To promote teamwork by integrating training alongside other healthcare disciplines, emphasizing the critical role of inter-professional collaboration in comprehensive patient care.
- Professional Development and Leadership: To offer avenues for fellows to hone their leadership skills, ensuring they are prepared to take on roles as educators, clinical leaders, and advocates in pediatric hospital medicine.
- Ethics and Compassionate Care: To emphasize the importance of ethical decision-making and cultivate a compassionate, patient-centered approach in all interactions, ensuring that our pediatric hospitalists treat every child and family with respect, dignity, and empathy.

Didactic Educations:
There are multiple educational meetings, as listed below, to ensure fellows maintain up-to-date knowledge to support their clinical training.

- Completed four years of Pediatric Residency and
- Arab Board Certified (or equivalent)
- Hold a valid Medical License or be eligible for licensure in Qatar.
