Johnny Awwad

Executive Chair of Women’s Services

Dr. Johnny Awwad has 25 years of experience as a Fertility Consultant. After completing a fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School, he joined the American University of Beirut Medical Center where he set the foundations for In Vitro Fertilization and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
He then received his certification in Embryology and Andrology from the American Board of Bioanalysis as a high complexity laboratory director (HCLD).

Dr. Awwad is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and founding Head of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He is also the founder of the Cryopreservation and Pre-Implantation Genetic programs at the same institution.

He has been past President of the Middle East Fertility Society and has recently received the STAR Award at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Gbemisola Okunoye

Dr Gbemisola (Shola)  Okunoye is the Division Chief of Obstetrics at Sidra Medicine. He joined Sidra Medicine as a Senior Attending Physician in 2014. He is an experienced and passionate clinician with unique expertise and specialized skills in the care of pregnancies complicated by medical disorders, particularly Diabetes. He provides personalized and quality obstetric care that stretches from pre-pregnancy period right through to the post-partum period. Dr Okunoye believes that pregnancy is a unique lifetime event and he maintains an inclusive approach as he supports pregnant women and their families through the different phases of pregnancy and childbirth. He provides an unhurried service, always with a smile. He actively supports a process of continuous improvement in the quality of care in hospitals through his expertise and training in healthcare education, leadership and quality. Prior to relocating to Qatar, he worked as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the University Hospital of South Manchester, where he was the Lead for the Maternal Medicine service.

Suruchi Mohan

CCT, DFSRH, MBBS, MRCOG, MS

Attending Physician, Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Suruchi is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Sidra Medicine. As an experienced Obstetrician and Gynecologist, she takes a keen interest in the care of women in pregnancy and delivery, having had advanced training in this area. She also provides general gynecology services, a full range of contraceptive services and outpatient hysteroscopy.
She leads the activities that ensure the pathways for Women entering the Women’s emergency and urgent care department are coordinated safely, by working with the multidisciplinary clinical team.

Working in collaboration with nursing and midwifery education, Dr. Suruchi supports the delivery of education to the clinical teams to maintain a high quality of clinical care for women.

Hala Abdullahi

CCT-UK, FRCOG, MBBS, MHPE, RCR/RCOG Dip

Senior Attending Physician, Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr Hala joined Sidra in May 2017. She takes an active role in supporting the service provision within the department through the development of several guidelines and as an active member of the Educational, Guidelines and Resuscitation Committees. She leads on the unit simulation training for emergency drills and is involved in many research projects.

Dr. Hala is an experienced Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, with over 20 years’ experience in clinical practice across different settings and resources. She completed structured postgraduate training in the Northeast of England and obtained Advanced training skills in labor ward practice and fetal Medicine. In addition, she has extensive experience in the medical and surgical management of low and high-risk pregnancies and general Gynecological problems.

Karim Kalache

MD, PhD

Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division

Professor Karim is the Chief of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at Sidra Medicine. Prior to assuming this role in 2014, he served as Vice Chairman and Professor of the Department of Obstetrics at the Charité – University Hospital in Berlin, Germany.

He is a leading expert with an international reputation for clinical excellence in Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetrics.

He works closely with obstetric teams across Qatar to support early and appropriate management of pregnancies where fetal complications are identified.

Medhat Alberry

FACOG, FRCOG, MBBCH, MRCOG, MSc, PhD

Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and in Fetal and Maternal Medicine

Dr. Medhat Alberry is an Attending Physician at Sidra Medicine. He has over 22 years of experience as a consultant in fetal and maternal medicine and obstetrics. He joined Sidra Medicine in November 2017 and has vast experience in managing low and high-risk pregnancies. His areas of expertise in Fetal Medicine include fetal growth restriction, multiple pregnancies, fetal congenital abnormalities, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), and invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villous sampling (CVS) and 3D/4D ultrasound.

Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Alberry practiced in the UK for 12 years in a number of major maternal fetal medicine/Obstetrics units such as Cambridge University Hospital, Birmingham Heartland’s Hospital and others.

Justin Konje

Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar and Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Leicester UK

Prof. Justin Konje is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar and Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Leicester UK. Prior to joining the Feto Maternal Centre, he worked at Sidra Medicine initially as Division Chief of Research in the Women’s Services and then as Executive Chairman of the Women’s Clinical Services Management Group. He was consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester for 16 years where he was Director of Feto-Maternal Services for 10 years and led the Endometriosis and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Service for 12 years.

His areas of interest include high risk pregnancies (including diabetes), fetal medicine, endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, recurrent pregnancy loss, menstrual problems, endocrine problems related to female reproduction and family planning.

Ahmed Badreldeen

Director of the Feto Maternal Medicine Centre in Doha and is a Professor of Obstetrics at Weill Cornell Medical College

Professor Badreldeen is the Director of the Feto Maternal Medicine Centre in Doha and is a Professor of Obstetrics at Weill Cornell Medical College – Qatar. He previously held the position of Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women’s Hospital, part of Hamad Medical Corporation, for ten years. Prior to moving to Qatar, Professor Badreldeen was also a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist (with special interest in perinatal medicine and high-risk pregnancy) at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, UK.

Professor Badreldeen is a founding member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), a board member of the World Association of Prenatal Medicine, founder and president of the African Association of Perinatal Medicine, Founder of the Fellowship Program in Advanced Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, board member of the Fetus As the Patient Society, founding member of the Academy of Medical Educators, and the Regional Director of the Ian Donald School of Medical Ultrasound.

Osric B Navti

Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Osric Navti is a senior consultant obstetrician with over has over 25 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Following completion of sub-specialty training in Maternal & Fetal Medicine at the University Hospitals Leicester, he was consultant, labour ward lead and in charge of the Obstetric clerkship for students from the University of Leicester Medical school.

He was also Foundation training program director at Health Education East England. Dr. Navti is currently assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Weill Cornell Medicine, Qatar and a senior consultant at Al Wakra hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation. He has authored multiple papers and chapters in reference textbooks. He has been a speaker at conferences locally and internationally. Osric is passionate about maternal health and volunteered with various charities as a trainer in emergency Obstetric care in various African countries. Osric is passionate about equity, fairness and values diversity in teams

Najat Khenyab

Dr Najat Khenyab is currently Deputy to the Medical Director of WWRC and acting chair of AMOC, WWRC Ethical committee and member in Corporate Ethical Committee. She participated in development of corporate pregnancy termination policy and gender selection policy.

Annalisa Terranegra

Investigator Precision Nutrition, Mother and Child Health Division-Translational Medicine Department

Dr. Terranegra obtained her MSc degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Siena, Italy,
and both her Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and Post-graduate Diploma in Nutritional Sciences at
the University of Milan, Italy.
Before joining Sidra Medicine in 2014, Dr. Terranegra achieved strong experience in molecular
biology and genetics during her career at the University of Milan, Italy, San Raffaele Hospital,
Milan, Italy, and San Paolo Hospital, Milan, Italy (2001-2014).
Dr. Terranegra has extensive teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at the University of
Milan, Italy (2003-2014). Dr. Terranegra currently covers the position of adjunct Assistant
Professor both in the College of Health and Life Sciences at Hamad bin Khalifa University, Qatar, and in the College of Health Sciences at Qatar University, Qatar. At Sidra Medicine, Dr. Terranegra leads the Laboratory of Precision Nutrition (PreNutri Lab) which is interested to characterize the mechanisms underlying the role of food and nutrients in the development and management of pregnancy complications, infertility, and pediatric noncommunicable diseases. The PreNutri lab research projects focus on understanding the effect of diet on gut microbiota and epigenetic mechanisms, as well as diet interaction with the genomic background, using the most advanced technologies, such as bacterial 16S rRNAsequencing, DNA-methylation arrays, DNA genotyping, and nutritional assessment.

Ibrahim Mamoun Ibrahim

Dr. Ibrahim is an experienced endocrinologist with over 20 years of experience. He completed his MD research degree from the Newcastle University, UK, entitled the genetic basis of insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. He is an examiner for the MRCP (UK) PACES examination and has been actively involved in teaching. He also served as an Overseas Regional Adviser for the Royal college of Physicians of Edinburgh for the region of Riyadh, KSA.

Rudaina Hassan

Dr. Rudaina is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Sidra Medicine. She has contributed to the leadership and development of the private model of care for women at Sidra.
As an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist, she has supported the department through the development of clinical guidelines for the emergency
management of women. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine degree and Bachelor of Science
degree, Physiology, in Kings College London and has extended clinical knowledge through postgraduate education in the UK, including Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound, Sexual and Reproductive Medicine. She has a number of publications between 2009 and 2018.

Chiara Botti

Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr. Chiara Botti is a Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Her specialties include facial surgery, including face lifting, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. She is also an expert in breast surgery and body contouring.

Dr. Botti is a member of the AICPE (Italian Association of Aesthetic plastic surgery) and an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery in the Maxillofacial Residency Program of the University of Verona. She is also a surgeon at the Villa Bella Clinic in Italy.

Noor Al-Khori

Dr. Noor Al-Khori is the first Qatari physician to obtain Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology certification in Qatar. After receiving her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, she completed her Radiology residency at Weill Cornell/ New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Following this, she pursued a fellowship in Breast Imaging at Weill Cornell New York and a second fellowship in Pediatric Imaging at Lucille Packard Children’s/Stanford Hospital in California. Dr. Al-Khori joined Sidra Diagnostic Imaging in February 2018, where she is currently active in clinical practice as well as teaching and research. In addition, she is also the Medical Director for Quality and Safety in Radiology.

Zainab Imam

Division Chief - Adult Psychiatry for Women's Mental Health Sidra Medicine

Dr Zainab Imam is an adult and perinatal psychiatrist with over 30 years’ experience as a doctor and she is the Acting Division Chief of Women’s Mental Health Division.
She has expertise in the treatment of Perinatal Mental illness including pre- and postnatal mood disorders and psychosis. She can consult on preconception planning and complex perinatal mental health medication management. She also consults on other General Adult Mental Health conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, psychosis and bipolar affective disorder. She has expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Adult ADHD. Dr Imam is a Co-founder and Trustee of Foundation for Refugees Economic Empowerment (FREE- A UK and Nigeria Registered Charity), she is a Trustee of Nigeria Health Watch which uses informed advocacy and communication to influence health policy and seek better health and access to healthcare in Nigeria, she is also a Trustee of Nigerians in Diaspora IDP Support Group (NIDSG) and a Faculty of its Trauma Counselling Training Program in Nigeria. She is a Patron of Asido Foundation; a mental health education and advocacy charity in Nigeria.
Since joining Sidra Medicine in January 2018, Dr Imam is the Clerkship Director for Medical Students in Women’s Mental Health Division. She convenes the World Maternal Mental Health Day celebrations yearly and she is a member of the International Task Force for World Maternal Mental Health Day. Dr Imam is a co-opted executive member of the Perinatal Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists where she leads its International Work Room.

Tarique Salman

Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Tarique worked as a consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at Stepping Hill Hospital - UK for 8 years. He is a trained Gynaecology Surgeon and IVF Consultant.

The experience of Dr. Tarique includes managing normal and high risk pregnancy, twins, diabetes in pregnancy and other medical problems like thyroid diseases, neurological diseases and cases with complex surgical history. He also manages early pregnancy problems such as miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy and recurrent pregnancy loss.

With a long experience in assisted conception / IVF, Dr. Tarique has a special interest in the management of infertility problems.

Sanjay Swargathmadhom Prabhu

Dr. Sanjay Prabhu is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Sidra Medicine since-2018. Dr. Sanjay graduated his medical degree in 1996 and postgraduate diploma in obstetrics & gynaecology in 1999 from India. He went on to further complete his postgraduate training in obstetrics & gynaecology from Glasgow, UK. During this time he has done advanced training in Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy surgery. He received advanced training in Reproductive medicine from the historic and prestigious St Bart’s hospital, London and continued to work there as a consultant.

He is an active member of learned societies, which include British fertility society, European society of Human Reproduction & Embryology, European society of Gynecological Endoscopy and American society of Reproductive medicine.

Fadi Choucair

Dr. Fadi Choucair is the scientific manager and the lead clinical embryologist at Sidra Medical and Research Center, ESHRE certified senior embryologist. He has 13 years of experience as a clinical embryologist. Dr. Choucair is also the chair of the Middle East Fertility Society embryology special interest group. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Translational Medicine.

Osman Ortashi

Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist - Medical Director of Adult Ambulatory Care

Dr. Ortashi is an experienced Gynecologist & Obstetrician, with over 20 years’ experience, he completed his training in Cardiff and Bristol. Thereafter he worked as Lead for Gynecology & Colposcopy service at North Devon Hospital as well as NHS cervical cancer hospital based program coordinator for North Devon Region. He was member of South East lead colposcopies committee and member of Devon gynecology oncology network. Dr. Ortashi has an excellent experience in obstetrics that expand over three continents and consolidated by working under different settings and resources. He is well known regional figure in advanced pelvic and laparoscopic surgery.

Before joining Sidra he was working for UAE University and Mediclinic Hospital and was coordinator for Abu Dhabi cervical cancer screening committee and member of UAE national cancer reduction committee. Dr. Ortashi is sitting on many regional academic committees as well as on many advisory boards For HPV vaccination. He has published many original research on screening for cervical cancer & HPV vaccination.

Oliparambil Ashok Kumar

Dr Ashok worked at Portland Hospital, London, which is an exclusive private hospital for women and children in the UK. He got a number of publications between 2004 and 2014 Presented across the UK including both oral and poster Education  and undertook medical training at Medical colleges in India Trichur and Trivandrum.

Gamal Ahmed

Dr Gamal is a Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hamad Medical Corporation and an Honorary Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the University of Dundee in the UK.

With a career spanning various tertiary units and university hospitals in the UK and overseas, Dr Gamal has gained substantial experience in his field. His areas of particular interest include high-risk pregnancies, laparoscopy, and medical education. He was the previous lead for undergraduate teaching at the Dundee medical school and currently serves as the Clerkship Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Qatar University.

Dr Gamal regularly presents regionally and internationally, authored various textbook chapters, and sits on the editorial board for multiple international journals. Furthermore, he is an international examiner for the MRCOG.

Mazen Bishtawi

Dr. Mazen serves as the Director of Women's Services at The View Hospital and holds the position of Associate Professor at Qatar University's College of Medicine. His rich academic background encompasses a wide range of obstetric services, antenatal care, and extensive knowledge in various benign gynecological conditions with a vast experience in laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Mazen is not just a local luminary; his influence reaches a global scale. He has served in leadership positions such as the presidency of the Arab Gynecological Oncologists and as a founding member of Pan Arabian Researchers in Gynecological Oncologists (PARSGO). His valuable contributions extend to the international stage, having been a key member of the Scientific Committee at the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS).

Dr. Mazen's expertise extends to educating and enlightening his peers as a distinguished speaker at prominent international conferences. His notable appearance at the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) and the World Cancer Summit meeting in Berlin underscores his commitment to sharing profound insights and knowledge. Additionally, he has actively contributed to shaping the latest ESGO guidelines for cervical cancer management. Dr. Mazen's surgical proficiency is unparalleled when it comes to Laparoscopic surgery. He has successfully performed a multitude of surgeries for ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulval cancer cases. His expertise also extends to cervical cancer epidemiology and prevention.

Walid Mubarak

Dr. Walid Mubarak is one of approximately one hundred dedicated fellowship-trained pediatric interventional radiologists worldwide and one of three hundred pediatric interventional society members internationally.

He is currently a pediatric and adult interventional radiologist at Sidra Medicine. He is the lead for adult interventional radiology services, serving the pediatric and women's patients of Qatar, and has been fellowship trained in both adult and pediatric interventional radiology. To date, Sidra Medicine is the country's sole provider of pediatric interventional radiology services.

Dr. Walid has completed his pediatric interventional radiology training at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids), University of Toronto, Canada, and organizes several training programs for interventional skills internationally.

He currently Chairs the vascular access committee, is the modality lead for interventional radiology, and heads the CPD/CME continuous working group.

Having completed a diploma in healthcare management from Toronto, Dr. Walid is interested in quality improvement and risk mitigation in the angiography suite, as well as optimizing patient flow and improving cost-effectiveness.

Dr. Walid's areas of interest are vascular interventions, vascular anomalies, airway, oncology and fibroid interventions, medical education, faculty, and professional development. He is the co-founder of several specialty-driven education workshops nationally and internationally. He has also recently been appointed as a Qatari Board Examiner. On a daily basis, Dr. Walid is involved with performing minimally invasive procedures, patient care, teaching, and participating in the multi-disciplinary care of complex patients.

Dr. Walid has published several articles and a book chapter, with current ongoing research projects pending publication. He is also a reviewer for two prestigious interventional radiology journals.

Ashley J Robinson

Dr. Robinson joined Sidra Medical and Research Center in April 2014 as the Division Chief of Interventional Radiology. In this role, Dr. Robinson is responsible for providing clinical leadership and will integrate Sidra’s interventional radiology research and education priorities into a program of excellent clinical service delivery. Pediatric interventional radiology services at Sidra will provide minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for pediatric patients, including vascular access, biopsies, drainages and catheter-directed therapies among others. Interventional radiology will also work closely with specialists including obstetricians, surgeons and cardiologists in areas encompassing ante-natal fetal procedures as well as for maternal indications such as in the management of placenta accreta and post-partum bleeding. Before joining Sidra, Dr. Robinson was the Head of Pediatric Interventional Radiology and Deputy Head of the Department of Radiology at the Children’s Hospital of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In this role, he focused on general pediatric radiology, pediatric neuroradiology and fetal radiology. There, he contributed to the development and expansion of the interventional radiology service and overall site redevelopment, including planning of a new acute services building.

Olubunmi Oniya

Senior Attending Physician, Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Oniya is a Senior Attending Physician at Sidra Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College Qatar.
She has served as one of the Directors of Medical Education for the OBGYN Department at Sidra and has been recently appointed as team lead.
Dr. Oniya holds a medical degree from the University of Ilorin Nigeria. She did her post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United Kingdom at the Kent Surrey & Sussex deanery and the West of Scotland deanery where she became a Consultant.
She has also worked as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ninewells Teaching Hospital Dundee, Milton Keynes Hospital Buckinghamshire as well as Southend University Hospital Essex. Her areas of interest are Maternal Fetal Medicine, Acute gynaecology and Labour ward management.

Aliya Naz

Dr Aliya Naz is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with over 25 years of experience in clinical, teaching & simulation fields.
After obtaining her primary medical degree from north of Pakistan, Dr Naz underwent postgraduate training in OBGYN in the UK and worked as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in Scotland.
Dr Naz has been working in Qatar for the last 8 years, with experience of both public and private sectors, including Sidra Medicine, WWRC and recently at Al Ahli Hospital.

Haytham Ali

FRCPCH, MBBS

Clinical Lead for Perinatal Services

Dr Haytham Ali received his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum, Sudan in 1994. He completed his training in general pediatrics in the United Kingdom. Following the completion of his training, he became a member and fellow of the Royal College of Pediatric and Child Health (MRCPH-FRCPCH) in 2005 and 2010, respectively. Dr. Ali has also completed subspecialty training in neonatal-perinatal medicine and was issued a Certificate of Completion of Training in Neonatology in 2010. He worked as consultant neonatologist in Leeds, UK and held the title of honorary senior lecturer in Leeds University, UK for 4 years before joining Sidra in 2014. Dr Ali is the lead for neonatal resuscitation in Sidra Medicine, he is an instructor in the Newborn Life Support (NLS) since 2009 and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) since 2017.

Dr. Ali’s main area of academic interest is in long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of prematurity. He build experience through contribution to the follow-up studies of large population studies (EpiCure-2) and multicenter randomized controlled trial (BOOST-II UK). His other era of academic interest in infant nutrition and growth, Dr Ali has completed a research project using bioelectrical impedance analysis in preterm infants. Finally, as for his educational activities, Dr. Ali was intimately involved in undergraduate and postgraduate student education and contributed to the supervision of master’s research thesis before joining Sidra Medicine.

Suruchi Mohan

Dr. Suruchi is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Sidra Medicine. As an experienced Obstetrician and Gynecologist, she takes a keen interest in the care of women in pregnancy and delivery, having had advanced training in this area. She also provides general gynecology services, a full range of contraceptive services and outpatient hysteroscopy.
She leads the activities that ensure the pathways for Women entering the Women’s emergency and urgent care department are coordinated safely, by working with the multidisciplinary clinical team.

Working in collaboration with nursing and midwifery education, Dr. Suruchi supports the delivery of education to the clinical teams to maintain a high quality of clinical care for women.

Hala Abdullahi

Dr Hala joined Sidra in May 2017. She takes an active role in supporting the service provision within the department through the development of several guidelines and as an active member of the Educational, Guidelines and Resuscitation Committees. She leads on the unit simulation training for emergency drills and is involved in many research projects.

Dr. Hala is an experienced Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, with over 20 years’ experience in clinical practice across different settings and resources. She completed structured postgraduate training in the Northeast of England and obtained Advanced training skills in labor ward practice and fetal Medicine. In addition, she has extensive experience in the medical and surgical management of low and high-risk pregnancies and general Gynecological problems.

Mohammed Bashir

Dr. Mohammed Bashir received his MB BS from the University of Khartoum. Then he completed his basic medical training in Ireland and obtained his membership with the Royal College of Physician in Ireland in 2006. In 2011 he was awarded a postgraduate medical doctorate (MD) degree from the University College of Dublin-Ireland . In 2012 Dr Bashir completed his higher training and was registered as a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology and diabetes with the Irish Medical Council and the General Medical Council. He has worked as a Consultant in Endocrinology in South Tipperary General Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Ireland before joining Hamad Medical Corporation in 2014. He is currently the director of the national diabetes centre in the Women’s Wellness and Research Centre. He has multiple publications in the areas of diabetes and pregnancy, diabetes and Ramadan, diabetes technology, and diabetes and renal disease.

Huda Abdullah Al Saleh

Dr. Huda Abdullah Al Saleh has more than 20 years of extensive experience which she acquired from the Arab Board in 2004 and has been working as a Senior Consultant from 2008. She assimilated extensive clinical experience throughout her work in a tertiary maternity hospital since 1998. Her work involves a wide range of clinical and executive management, continuous quality assurance, and training for various interdisciplinary team members aside from leading healthcare improvements. She is currently the Executive Director of Quality and Patient Safety and a Senior Consultant at WWRC.
Aside from clinical leadership, she is passionate in education. She is actively involved in designing education programs and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students from different specialties. She teaches medical students, interns, residents, midwives, general practitioners and other specialties through workshops, trainings, and grand rounds.

Jamal Grayez

Dr Grayez is an experienced consultant in Pulmonology and acute care medicine, before joining Sidra Medicine he worked as a consultant Physician in Internal medicine and Pulmonology in Oxford, Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He has extended his knowledge and expertise to include pleural, sleep and difficult asthma, lung infections, lung cancer, pulmonary embolism.
Dr Grayez was an investigator in The Oxford pleural disease trials unit Oxford.
Dr Grayez has over 10 years’ experience as a Senior clinical advisor for the Parliamentary and health service Ombudsman in the UK, London. Advising on health complaint a cross the whole of the UK and providing recommendations to hospitals to improve the quality of the health care.

Dr Arabo Ibrahim Bayo

Dr. Arabo is a senior obstetrician and gynaecologist and Lead Clinician for Labour and Delivery for over 10 years and now Head of Benign Gynaecology, at the Women's Hospital (WWRC), HMC, Doha, Qatar. He trained and worked in Nigeria, Republic of Island and the UK before joining HMC.
He has wide experience in obstetrics & gynaecology and special interest in major complex gynae surgery. His obstetrics interest is high risk obstetrics especially major placental pathology and labour & delivery.
He has many local and international presentations and papers in his field of interest. He pioneered a new surgical technique for the management of morbidly adherent placenta.

Ammira S. Al-Shabeeb Akil

Dr. Akil lead the Precision Medicine of Diabetes Prevention lab at Sidra Medicine and the Genetics and Metabolic Diseases clinical research program. She obtained a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from UNSW, Australia, a master's in immunology, and a teaching diploma. Additionally, she holds an International Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) from HEC-Paris Business School for Executive Education, majoring in entrepreneurship and innovation in the medical tourism sector.

With three postdoctoral roles in pediatric infectious diseases, myeloma cancer drug targeting, and Envirogenetics of type 1 diabetes, Dr. Akil expertise drives clinical genomic research for complex disorders. She's secured over $7.3 million USD in grants as Lead Principal Investigator from organizations like Rebecca L Cooper Medical Research Foundation (Australia), Qatar National Research Fund (Qatar), and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF (USA).

Dr. Akil leads projects using Genetic Risk Scores for autoimmune disease screening, particularly type 1 diabetes, and is actively involved in developing genomic newborn screening for treatable conditions both rare and complex diseases. Her approach combines advanced research technologies with fostering Qatar's research growth, focusing on precision medicine.
