Precision Medicine and Functional Genomics 2022
23-26 September 2022 | Doha, Qatar
Welcome Message
On behalf of Sidra Medicine, we invite you to the 6th annual PMFG Symposium which will be held in Doha, Qatar, on September 23-26, 2022. Over the years, the PMFG series has grown significantly in topics and diversity with a wide range of speakers and a growing audience worldwide. The event will be preceded by an outstanding Pre-Symposium Biotech Forum on 22 September, 2022.
As part of its National Vision 2030, Qatar is committed to building a knowledge-based economy in the biomedical and health sciences. Sidra Medicine supports this goal by actively engaging clinical and scientific expertise to establish a leading model for Precision Medicine in the region. In line with this vision, PMFG 2022 will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and community members to explore the latest developments and innovations in biomedical research and how they translate into precision medicine solutions.
Join us to discover how Personalised Medicine can move from vision to practice and to draft with us the roadmap for a personalized health data ecosystem.
Dr. Khalid Fakhro, Chief Research Officer
Event Chairs
- Chiara Cugno, MD, Director, Advanced Cell Therapy Core
- Luis R. Saraiva, PhD, Director, Laboratory of Neurometabolism and Functional Genomics
Precision Medicine takes individual variations in genetics, pharmacogenomics, proteomics, microbiome, environmental, lifestyle factors, and others into account, allowing health care providers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

PMFG 2022 is a four-day in-person symposium with pre- and post-conference workshops, and a satellite half-day meeting centered on two major themes:
- How cellular, organoid, and animal models are being used to facilitate the discovery of basic disease mechanisms and potential cures
- The development of advanced therapies to treat diseases
- Clinicians and clinician-researchers and clinical scientists
- Researchers, bioinformaticians, and genetic counselors
- Nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, public health professionals, clinical lab professionals, and pharmacists
- Students, trainees, interns, postdoctoral fellows, volunteers
- Find out how National and International Programs are being developed to ensure a Precision Medicine ecosystem worldwide
- Describe how clinical trial networking is critical for evaluating advanced treatments in pediatric, rare disorders
- Describe the recent applications of Precision Medicine approaches in Pediatric Cancer Immunotherapy
- Learn about novel technologies driving recent advances in the field of translational genomics
- Learn about recent efforts using animal, cellular, and organoid models for human disease modeling
