Overview /Young Scientists Symposium
The Impact of Biomedical Research on Patient Care

We are pleased to announce the inaugural Precision Medicine & Functional Genomics (PMFG) Young Scientists Symposium organized by and for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education alongside clinical fellows, residents, and other clinicians of similar experience levels.

The PMFG Young Scientists Symposium aims to provide a platform for up-and-coming members of the scientific community in the region to present their work and network in a friendly and intellectually stimulating environment of peers. The theme of this year’s symposium is “The Impact of Biomedical Research on Patient Care.”

Our symposium will start with a keynote talk by Dr. Paul Bastard from the Imagine Institute (University of Paris, Inserm, AP-HP, France) and will also feature a mentorship session by the Senior Editor of Nature Genetics, Dr. Safia Danovi, and the Deputy Editor of The New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Elizabeth Phimister. Together with our excellent junior speakers, we are looking towards an exciting and stimulating day of scientific discussion and learning.

We invite junior scientists and clinicians (fellows, residents, and medical students) to submit abstracts that include published and/or unpublished data describing novel experimental approaches, technologies, and data acquired from basic, translational, or clinical research with the potential to improve patient care. Abstracts can only be submitted by email to youngscientists@sidra.org

We look forward to receiving your submissions and welcoming you to Doha.
