Radiation Protection for Medical Practitioners

Location: Diagnostic Imaging Fellows Room, Plaza Level, Hospital Building.

The Scientific Planning Committee has reviewed all disclosed financial relationships of speakers, moderators, facilitators and/or authors in advance of this CPD activity and has implemented procedures to manage any potential or real conflicts of interest.

Target Audience: Medical practitioners requiring a radiation workers license as per the requirements of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to operate ionizing radiation equipment.

Overall Program Learning Outcomes
1. Describe the main sources of ionizing radiation and its risks
2. List the framework and principles of ionizing radiation safety for staff, general public and patients
3. Define work practices and techniques that limit occupational exposure and optimize patient exposure to ionizing radiation
4. Explain responsibilities as per the radiation safety requirements of the State of Qatar and ability to work safely within these requirements.
