    Clinical Psychologist

    Zenat Ally is a child and adolescent psychologist in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services division at Sidra. She is responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions for children and adolescents patients and for evaluating complxxex psychological data and formulating a formal psychological treatment plan for the patients.

    Zenat hold a Masters awarded with Distinction with the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa and post-masters internship in Clinical Psychology, completed through the UKZN Department of Behavioral Medicine. Zenat was awarded her Psychology Honors degree at UKZN with Summa Cum Laude. Her internship experience provided her with supervised training in Psycho-diagnosis, Psychotherapy and Clinical Neuropsychology with adults, adolescents and children. Her community service with the Department of Correctional Services provided her with formal forensics assessment training within the correctional setting for sentenced adult offenders being considered for parole (determinate and life sentences). Zenat has compiled reports for the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board (CSPB), for the National Council of Correctional Services (NCCS) and for the Honourable Minister of Correctional Services in South Africa.

    In addition to her psychology qualification, she hold a post-graduate Honors degree in Labor Law (Industrial Relations) and has attained previous corporate experience, working in the Human Resource profession at Investec Private Bank (Durban, South Africa), Deloitte (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Iscor Mining (Pretoria, South Africa).

    Before being at Sidra, Zenat worked as a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in South Africa in association with other mental health professionals at a Mental Health Wellness Centre. Her specialties are in the areas of psychological assessment (including clinical diagnostic, educational, emotional, neuropsychological, and psycho-legal) with adults, children and adolescents and providing specialist psychotherapy and counseling for a wide range of clinical disorders and adjustment difficulties. Zenat has a particular interest in conducting child custody and psychological evaluations within a legal context, and providing expert input on a specific aspect of functioning as put before the court.
