Warwick Dean. Ngan Kee
Dr. Warwick Ngan Kee is the Chair of Anesthesiology at Sidra Medicine. Prior to this, he was Professor and Director of Obstetric Anaesthesia at the Chinese University of Hong Kong with clinical duties at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin, Hong Kong. He retains the title of Honorary Clinical Professor with the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Ngan Kee was born in New Zealand where he completed his undergraduate training at the University of Auckland. He received his postgraduate training in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He was awarded the higher degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Auckland in 1997 associated with his research into the use of epidural pethidine (meperidine) for postoperative analgesia after cesarean section.
Dr. Ngan Kee has authored 115 full papers in international peer-reviewed journals and 15 book chapters and has given over 140 lectures at international conferences. He currently a co-editor for Chestnut’s Obstetric Anesthesia, recent co-editor of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia and was a founding executive member of the Obstetric Anaesthesia Society of Asia and Oceania. His research interests are centered on obstetric anesthesia and analgesia and include hemodynamic management during regional anesthesia for caesarean section, computer-controlled drug delivery, and pharmacodynamic modelling of neuraxial anesthetic agents.
