Acting Division Chief of Obstetrics
Dr. Aeby was born and raised in the US state of New Mexico and graduated from the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine. He did his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency training at the University Of Hawaii John A. Burns School Of Medicine in Honolulu. He has been on the UH faculty since 1993 and held the rank of Associate Professor and Associate Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health.
Dr. Aeby’s current academic interests center on medical education, minimally invasive surgery, and complicated vaginal delivery. He has been an active participant in medical education, from serving on the MD program committee for undergraduate education, through many years as the Residency Program Director, to being on the ACOG Committee for Scientific Program and Chair of the ACOG Committee on Continuing Medical Education. In 2013, Dr. Aeby completed a Master’s degree in Educational Technology.
He has been actively involved with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) over the past three decades and has held numerous committee and leadership positions. He is current Chair of the Committee on Industrial Exhibits. He is a Senior Oral Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Aeby was also one of the founding members of the Society of Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and is on their Communications Committee.
Dr. Aeby was member of the Sidra Team from November, 2014 to January 2016 and returned in September of 2017.
