    Senior Attending Physician

I am a UK trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist. I began my career in Anesthesia as a Resident in Calicut, Kerala in the mid Nineties. I went on to train in Anesthesia in the U.K. after being sponsored by the Royal College. I completed my CCT in 2006 from Newcastle upon Tyne and also included a year of Pediatric Anesthesia and PICU (at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Newcastle Hospitals respectively). I received my FRCA in 2001. After “acting up” as a Consultant I accepted a substantive post in Newcastle where I worked in Anesthesia and Intensive Care for 5 years. Here I was also lead for Pediatric Pain management. I then moved with my family to Christchurch New Zealand where I worked as Specialist Paediatric Anaesthetist for 6 years. This is a large General Hospital and we cared for all but the most complex children from a population of 1.5 million. In both the UK and New Zealand, I was also Senior Lecturer with the Universities of Newcastle and Otago respectively. In 2018 I moved to Sidra, to work in an advanced children’s hospital alongside specialists from around the world.

My areas of clinical interest include neonatal anesthesia, pain management and airway management. I have a special interest in teaching Pain Management and databases. I spend much time teaching and speaking in India at national conferences. I am a member of the New Zealand Society of Anesthetists as well as the European Society of Pediatric Anesthetists and attend various international meetings.
