    Division Chief, Adult Anesthesia

    Dr Monzer is the Division Chief for Adult Anesthesia and joins us from Western Perth, Australia with 27 years of experience in Senior Consultancy and leadership roles in international Tertiary Centers. His previous roles have encompassed all areas of Anesthesia with an emphasis on Obstetrics & Gynecology Anesthesia.

    Dr Monzer has worked as a Head of Department at Geraldton Hospital-Western Australia in 2010 and also has held the position of the Head of the Obstetric Anesthesia at King Faisal Hospital in Saudi Arabia from 2004-2009.

    Dr Monzer holds a fellowship in Anesthesia for Open Heart Surgery and ICU from France and a clinical fellowship in Obstetrics Anesthesia from KEMH, Perth WA. He also is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Anesthesia at Weill Cornell Medical College of Qatar.

    Teaching and training of staff has been of special interest to him as well as international outreach programs, and he is very much excited by the challenge of participating in the development of a world Class Centre with his Sidra Colleagues.

    Dr. Monzer is an editorial board member of Clinical Anesthesia and Pain Medicine for the Journal of Translational Medicine since Jan 2015.

    Dr Monzer is a keen water polo player. He has played at the World Swimming Championship in Perth in January 1991 and other international level events. He continues to play in Doha and swims every day in the Gulf.
