Dr. Mohamed Ata Hendaus Rahal is a senior consultant in Academic General Pediatrics and a member of the Pediatric Residency Program Core Faculty. He received his training at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical College and at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Specialties and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In terms of research and publications, he has conducted and taken the lead in novel research across a variety of areas concerning pediatrics. The most prominent contributions have centered on barriers of breastfeeding, prevalence of breastfeeding in Qatar, clinical practice guidelines, perception towards medical school clerkships and the consequences and risks that affect infants and children with acute bronchiolitis.
Dr. Hendaus Rahal has had the privilege to teach and coach medical students from Weill-Cornell Medical College in Qatar, the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Chicago Medical School. He has been also involved in the education and training of Pediatrics and Family Medicine Residents from Hamad Medical Corporation and previously Pediatric Residents from Mount Sinai Hospital, Christ Hospital and Hope Children’s hospital in the State of Illinois.
Dr Hendaus Rahal has 13 years of experience in between the United States and The State of Qatar. He speaks fluently Arabic, Spanish and English.
Dr Hendaus Rahal has received numerous awards including the Globe of Excellence Award, the Arab Pediatric Medical Research, Rising Star Award in Clinical Practice, Merit Award in Research, and Excellence in teaching Award, to mention a few.
