Dr. Kuruvilla currently serves as the Medical Director of Education in Neonatology and has developed and run the Simulation program for clinical Activation of the Neonatal OPC and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in-patient services.

The focus of his research has mirrored his clinical responsibilities and interest in education: the role of patent ductus arteriosus in neonatal morbidity and its management, and the use of simulation in inter-professional education. His main focus of research within simulation is in evaluating key aspects of team-working, transfer of skills, knowledge and behavior, as well as the role of simulation in inter-professional education.
