Dr. Khaled Zamel is the Senior Attending and Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Sidra Medicine. He is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill-Cornell Medical College and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurology at Ohio State University, Ohio, USA.
Dr. Zamel is American board certified in both Pediatric Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. His expertise is reflected by his publications, including research studies, book chapters, and a textbook. He has led and collaborated on several clinical trials.
Before joining Sidra, he worked as an Epileptologist and Neurophysiologist for 14 years at Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after which he established Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy unit in the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Zamel is the recipient of the teacher of the year award at the Nationwide Children's Hospital/Ohio State University. In addition to epilepsy and neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring, his other areas of interest include pediatric stroke and tuberous sclerosis complex.
Dr. Zamel is currently the lead principal investigator for a large research project that involves genetic and autoimmune testing in patients with epilepsy.
