Attending Plastic & Craniofacial Surgeon
Dr Graeme Glass is an Attending Plastic and Craniofacial Surgeon at Sidra Medicine and an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He studied both medicine and physiology at Glasgow University and obtained his PhD at Imperial College, London before embarking on post-doctoral research as a lecturer at Oxford University where he continued his research work into novel stem cell therapeutics. In tandem with his research work he completed his plastic surgery residency in London before embarking on specialist training in craniofacial surgery at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital, London as well as prestigious fellowships in head & neck microvascular reconstruction, facial palsy and aesthetic surgery.
Dr Glass has published over 45 peer-reviewed papers, several textbook chapters and has lectured nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the recipient of research awards from the Academy of Medical Sciences and the AO foundation. Dr Glass sits on the editorial board of a major plastic surgery journal and teaches on preparation courses for the Royal College Fellowship (board) exams.
Dr Glass’ clinical interests are pediatric craniofacial surgery including craniosynotosis (fused cranial bones) and associated facial deformity, cleft lip and palate, facial nerve palsy, oculoplastic (eyelid) surgery and microsurgical reconstruction. He has a particular interest in introducing established international standards of excellence to his practice at Sidra Medicine. He takes pride in making patients and their families feel comfortable through a relaxed and friendly approach that focuses on building rapport with the children and their families and accommodating their needs in a culturally sensitive manner.
