  • About the Physician

    Dr. Gehan Mostafa, born in Egypt and raised in Austria, brings a diverse cultural background that greatly influences her approach to patient care. Since joining Sidra Medicine in March 2018, she has been serving as a senior attending pediatric critical care physician in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (CICU). She is the Physician Lead of Quality and Safety for the CICU.

    Her expertise lies in managing critically ill children and treating life-threatening cardiac conditions using extracorporeal treatment modalities, particularly extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

    Before joining Sidra Medicine, she worked for 16 years as a consultant at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Medical University of Vienna (MUV) in Austria. At MUV, she spearheaded a comprehensive follow-up program for ECMO patients after ICU discharge. Furthermore, she contributed as university staff, conducting her lecture series and offering bedside teaching modules in the PICU at MUV.
